Kiva Records has just released a new CD recording of Australian Wardaman Aboriginal Elder Yidumduma Bill Harney in concert and in the bush singing songs, telling stories, imitating birds and playing the Marlugbarr (didjeridoo). Leedi (Grasshopper Man) was produced by Paul Taylor & Russ Hopkins for the Wardaman Dreaming Project, an ongoing endeavour to document Wardaman culture. If you live in Colorado don't miss a very rare US appearance by Bill Harney with Paul Taylor at the Fiske Planetarium in Boulder September 26, 2008, and a bit sooner just to the north in Laramie Wyoming on September 11 and 12. Check Paul's web site (www.paultaylor.ws) for more US dates this September.

On June 19 Kiva Records released two new CD albums of original music: Sweet Mystery by Kiva owner Russ Hopkins and Deep Blue Sky by Jerry Palmer. Hopkins and Palmer co-produced both projects and celebrated together with a concert June 27 at Avo's in Fort Collins with many of their musical friends including (from left to right) Beckman, Joe Kissell, Chuck Biddlecom, Lloyd Drust, Steve Eulberg, Little Red Bull, Peter Knudson, Kevin Jones, and Pamela Robinson. Both CDs are receiving a great response and a lot of Colorado air play.

Pamela Robinson will be releasing a beautiful, meditative native american flute recording called Shifting Turtle July 25. Recorded in a single session this past winter, Shifting Turtle is an incredible performance and pure magic.

April 22nd Kiva Records released the CD single The No Uranium Song by singer-songwriter Russ Hopkins in support of Coloradoans Against Resource Destruction (C.A.R.D.). “I wrote the song after being asked by Lloyd Drust to perform a benefit in support of people who are trying to bring information about local uranium mining to to public” says Hopkins. “After digging around myself for information this song just fell out. I offer it as a humble contribution toward public awareness and dialog on this issue.” The song will be available for download after June 6 from most major online music stores. Kiva Records and Russ Hopkins are donating all proceeds from the sale of The No Uranium Song to C.A.R.D. (www.nunnglow.com).
